Gray is not an uncommon suit color for celebrities on the red carpet, but what is more difficult to spot are celebrities wearing gray-on-gray. Young men from Shia Labeauf and Andrew Garfield to more seasoned veterans such as Daniel Craig and David Beckham can constantly be spotted in gray suits with contrasting gray shirts or gray ties. For more of a casual outfit of gray-on-gray you must look harder. Most of the gray-on-gray looks found in realm of casual outfits consist of more utilitarian looks where different shades of gray may be paired with olives or tans.
A thought to keep in mind is that celebrities are constantly outfitted by high-end designers for premiers and such. With the recent push by designers for the gray-on-gray trend we may see more and more celebrities wearing gray-on-gray in their everyday outfits which would further cement this trend and possibly even speed up its arrival to mass fashion.
One celebrity to keep an eye on is Kanye West. We saw him and Jay Z bring about a revival of all black everything back when the two were promoting Watch The Throne. Now, the two are back at it again with gray-on-gray. Kanye West has been spotted recently in gray t-shirts and sweatshirts layered on multiple occasions. One thing we know about Kanye is that he loves to take things to the extreme, so it will be interesting to see how far he takes his gray-on-gray ensembles.
