Menswear blogging powerhouse, The Style Blogger, recently posted about monochromatic outfits. As you can see, the editorial features Steven Santander decked out in a gray suit, hat, gloves, and gray monk straps. The main idea behind the monochromatic outfit is that a pop of color needs to be added which Steven successfully does.
Steven Santander:

“This grey outfit acts as a blank canvas for the poncho which is full of color”.

“As much as I love color, a good monochromatic outfit can do wonders”.

Sadly, even these three photos from The House of Majd do not address the gray-on-gray trend, but are editorials featuring specific pieces within each outfit, and the outfits just happen to be gray as a whole.
