I believe that the gray-on-gray trend in menswear will not catch on for spring 2014. As high-end designers have promoted the trend in their lines for spring 2014 I think it will take more time for consumers to grab a hold of it. First, I believe that most people see gray as either a staple color for a staple style, or they see it as a winter color used in flannels and wools. Secondly, before it will be fully accepted by consumers it will have to be marketed and advertised by mass fashion retailers, not just high-end designers. Lastly, I think blue-on-blue will have its moment as a trend before gray-on-gray will be accepted by consumers on a wide-standing basis, so until then gray-on-gray will have to wait its turn.

I do believe that although gray-on-gray will not be widely worn in spring of 2014, it will catch on heavily in fall of 2014 to be paired with winter colors and winter fabrics, and then I think the trend will be accepted in spring 2015 as a dominant trend exposed by mass consumerism.
